Trivandrum: The Kerala Government has decided to take 10 percent stake in the proposed Greenfield Internationalairport project at Aranmula in Pathanamthitta District, thereby giving its formal approval for the project. The Chennai based KGS Group is expected to start the work on their Rs.2,000 crore airport soon and they plan to start the operations of the airport in two years time.

KGS to start work on Aranmula International Airport in January
Trivandrum: The Chennai based KGS Group is ready to start the work on their Rs.2,000 crore proposed International Airport at Arnamula in Pathanamthitta District, in January, 2013. The Greenfield airport will be India’s first international airport to be started in the private sector. The company hopes to start the flight operations from the new airport in December, 2014.

According to a statement from the company, they have no interest in having land outside the airport project site notified as an industrial area.

Pathanamthitta: Contrary to some recent reports, there is no constraint for purchase of land by the KGS Aranmula International Airport Company for the proposed Rs.2,000 crore Greenfield airport being developed at Aranmula. In a communiqué, the company has clarified that the ceiling of 15 acres of land that is allowed to be kept by companies is not relevant for the airport projects.
