Alappuzha: Business deals worth Rs.200 crores are expected to have taken place at Coir Kerala 2013, the week long annual expo on Kerala coir and natural fibre products which concluded here yesterday. Minister for Coir, Shri Adoor Prakash said that the event elicited a far bigger response from coir workers, manufacturers, exporters and the general public than the previous two editions.

Alappuzha: As a platform to facilitate trade interactions at an international level, the Buyer-Seller Meet organised today as part of Coir Kerala 2013 turned out to be a hugely rewarding exercise for not just well-established exporters but fledgling societies and cooperatives as well.

Alappuzha: With a pledge to accord the highest priority to coir sector, Chief Minister Shri Oommen Chandy inaugurated the week long Coir Kerala 2013 on February 01, an international event that aims to drive the resurgence of the state’s most important traditional industry.

Trivandrum: A large and virtually untapped market for coir exists within the country which could potentially drive the resurgence of Kerala’s coir industry, according to Minister for Revenue & Coir, Shri Adoor Prakash. Initiatives such as the Coir Kerala trade event, which enters in its third edition this year, target revival of Kerala’s traditional coir industry by facilitating business interactions, discussions on R&D and technology exchange.
