Kottayam: In a first of its kind effort, the Kottayam based Rubber Board under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, has published a directory of the rubber tappers in Kerala. The directory is based on the survey conducted by the Rubber Board in association with Rubber Producers’ Societies in Kerala.

Rubber Board announces insurance scheme for rubber tappers
Kottayam: The Kottayam based Rubber Board under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, has invited applications from rubber tappers for enrolling in ‘Group Life Insurance Cum Terminal Benefit Scheme’, implemented by the Rubber Board in collaboration with the Life Insurance Corporation of India.

The visit is under the Rubber Project of International Rubber Study Group (IRSG) funded by Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) with IRSG as the supervisory body. The team is headed by Dr. Timothy Unuigboje, Rubber Research Institute of Nigeria (RRIN).
