Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan has informed that 6,820 new Covid-19 cases were confirmed in Kerala today. 5,935 persons were infected through contact and the source of infection for 730 was unknown. There were 60 healthcare workers among those infected. At the same time, 26 deaths were reported taking the Covid related death toll in the state to 1,613. Meanwhile, 7,699 patients have recovered from the disease today.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Elephant Rehabilitation Centre at Kottoor in Thiruvananthapuram is set to become the largest care and cure centre for elephants in the world. The first phase of the internationally acclaimed Elephant Rehabilitation Centre will be commissioned in February 2021. The project is being implemented at a cost of Rs 108 crores with funding from KIIFB. The centre has facilities to accommodate 50 elephants including the existing 16 elephants.

Thiruvananthapuram: 8,516 new active cases of Covid-19 were reported in Kerala today while 8,206 patients have recovered from the disease. 7,473 people were infected through contact and the contact source for 879 was unknown. There were 67 medical personnel among those infected. Meanwhile, 28 recent deaths were confirmed as being caused by Covid taking the related death toll in the State to 1,587.

There were 73 medical personnel among those infected. 26 recent deaths were confirmed as due to Covid taking the related death toll in the State to 1,559.
