Thiruvananthapuram, April 23: Ten new cases of Coronavirus were reported in Kerala today. Four persons from Idukki district, two each in Kozhikode and Kottayam districts, and one each from Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts are those who tested positive. While four have come back from the neighbouring States, four are cases of local transmission and the remaining two are returnees from abroad.

Kerala Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan today announced that the state would give an impetus to poultry farming, fish farming and animal husbandry to increase self-sufficiency in these sectors. The State would seek NABARD’s help in implementing these schemes. Cooperative societies would cater to additional loans to expand the production in these sectors.

Thiruvananthapuram, April 22: Kerala reported 11 new cases of Covid-19 today, seven from Kannur district, two in Kasargod district, and one each from Kottayam and Malappuram districts. Five of them have come back from overseas and three have got the infection through primary contact. One person is a health worker and two are house surgeons at Kozhikode Medical College who had travelled to Kerala by train.

Thiruvananthapuram, April 21: Kerala Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan today asked the people in the State to be self-sufficient in producing food grains and in the cultivation of fruits and vegetables so as to be prepared for any eventuality in future. Kerala is dependent on other States for meeting its demand for food grains, fruits and vegetables.

Thiruvananthapuram, April 21: Kerala today saw a spike in the number of Coronavirus cases being reported with 19 new cases being confirmed today. Ten of the new cases are from Kannur district, four in Palakkad district, three from Kasargod district, and one each in Malappuram and Kollam districts. Of these, 13 persons have returned from abroad, three from Tamil Nadu and one from Uttar Pradesh. The rest two are cases of local transmission.
