Institute of Advanced Virology, Trivandrum gets Global Virus Network membership

Thiruvananthapuram, April 20: Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan today announced that the Institute of Advanced Virology (IAV) at Thiruvananthapuram has got membership in the Global Virus Network (GVN). This is the first institution in the country to get the prestigious GVM membership. This would give IAV access to the GVN’s researchers at 45 centres across 29 countries for detection and management of viral diseases apart from the exchange of ideas and resource material.

Government sets up Cancer treatment centres in all 14 districts, first in country

Thiruvananthapuram, April 15: Kerala Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan today announced that the State Government is setting up 22 Cancer treatment centres across all the 14 districts in the State in association with the Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) at Thiruvananthapuram. This would enable cancer patients to continue their treatment during this Covid period. This is for the first time such an initiative for cancer care is being done in the country

India’s top 12 Primary Health Centres in Kerala as three gets national quality recognition

Thiruvananthapuram, April 10: Minister of Health, Smt K K Shailaja Teacher today announced that three more hospitals in Kerala have received the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification. The new Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Kallikaddu, Thiruvananthapuram with 95% points, the Family Health Centre (FHC) at Kalladikode, Palakkad with 94% and the FHC at Nenmanikara, Thrissur with 93% are the three hospitals which got the NQAS recognition. With this achievement, the top 12 PHCs of the country are in Kerala.
