High Test Positivity Rate will result in higher disease spread: CM

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan today said that Kerala should expect an increased spread of the disease because of the high Test Positivity Rate prevalent in the State. “The Test Positivity Rate is still high and we need to reduce it significantly. The increase in test positivity rate indicates that it will take some more time for the disease to reach its peak in Kerala.”

Private Labs should charge only revised RTPCR testing rate: Kerala CM

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan today issued a stern warning that the government will be forced to take legal action against private laboratories in the State who do not pass on the benefits of the revised RTPCR testing rate to the customers. It may be recalled that the State government had on April 29 slashed the rate of the RTPCR test used to detect Coronavirus infection from Rs.1,700 to Rs.500.

37,199 new Covid cases, Kerala may impose full lockdown in select districts

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 30: Kerala today reported 37,199 new cases of Covid-19 which were detected from 149,487 sample tests in the last 24 hours with a Test Positivity Rate of 24.88%. 49 recent deaths were confirmed as due to Covid. At present, there are 3,03,733 patients under treatment for Coronavirus infection in the state while 17,500 patients have recovered from the same.
