Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 14: Minister for Health, Smt K K Shailaja has informed that Covid-19 has been confirmed in 1,569 persons in Kerala today. 1,354 people were infected through contact and the source of infection was not traceable in 86 cases. 56 persons are those who have arrived from foreign countries and 132 from other states. Meanwhile, 1,304 patients have recovered from the disease today.

Kerala reports highest single day count of 1,564 new cases
Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 13: Minister for Health, Smt K K Shailaja has informed that 1,564 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in Kerala today, the highest single-day tally so far. At the same time, 766 patients have recovered from the disease. Of the cases detected today, 1,380 were locally transmitted cases and the contact source of 98 was not traceable. 60 are returnees from overseas and 100 from other states.

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 12: Covid-19 was detected in 1,212 people in Kerala today while 880 patients under treatment have recovered from the same. Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan said of the cases confirmed today, 1,068 people were infected through contact and the source of infection was unknown in 45 cases. 51 are those who came back from foreign countries and 64 from other states. 22 healthcare workers were also infected. Six deaths were reported taking the Covid related death toll in the State to 126.

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 11: Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan has informed that 1,417 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in Kerala today. At the same time, 1,426 patients have recovered from the disease. 1,242 were cases of local transmission and the contact sources in 105 persons were not traceable. 62 cases are in those who returned from abroad and 75 from other states. 36 healthcare workers are also infected. The Chief Minister also offered his condolences on the five deaths reported.

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 10: Kerala Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan today demanded that States be allowed to use funds from the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) unconditionally for Covid defence activities, removing the current 25% limit. He made this demand to the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi during the video conference meeting of the PM with the Chief Ministers of flood-affected States.
