Kerala reports 20% decline in Covid cases, plans revised lockdown strategy
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala has reported a 20% decline in the number of Covid cases in the last week. Briefing the media, Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan informed that a 10% decrease in the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) was also reported during this same period. The government is planning a revised strategy for lockdown based on the declining TPR.

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan today said that the more dangerous Delta variant of the Coronavirus was more prevalent in Kerala during the outbreak of the second wave of Covid in the State. But he also added that the threat of the second wave was now over.

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala has extended the lockdown in the state till June 09 and the new guidelines will come into effect from May 31. Announcing the decision, Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan said, “Although the prevalence of the disease is declining significantly in the state, we have not yet reached a stage to remove restrictions. The lockdown will continue in all districts from May 31 to June 9.”
