Kottayam: The domestic natural rubber (NR) sector has shown positive growth in production and consumption compared to the previous year, which is a good sign of a resurgence of the Indian plantation sector. This was disclosed by Dr. Sawar Dhanania, Chairman of the Rubber Boar while presiding over the 185th meeting of the Rubber Board at Kottayam.

Kottayam: The Rubber Board announced that the Indian natural rubber (NR) sector registered a growth of 8.3 per cent in production and 9.0 per cent in consumption in 2022-23 over the previous year. Rubber production increased to 839,000 tonnes in 2022-23 from 775,000 tonnes in 2021-22. Meanwhile, consumption increased from 1238,000 tonnes in 2021-22 to 1350,000 tonnes in 2022-23.
