Kottayam: The International Rubber Research and Development Board (IRRDB), the research and development platform of natural rubber producing countries, is conducting its Annual Meetings 2012 and 10th International Rubber Conference (IRC) at Kovalam. The IRC will be held during October 29 – 31, 2012 and the IRRDB Annual Meetings on November 1 & 2. The Indian Rubber Board is hosting the IRRDB Annual Meetings and IRC, this year.

Kottayam: The Government of India has included branded ‘Indian Natural Rubber’ in the Market Linked Focus Product Scheme (MLFPS). According to the Foreign Trade Policy amendment by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on June 05, 2012, branded NR would be incentivised and entitled to duty credit scrip equivalent to 2 per cent. Indian NR has been included as 147th item in the MLFP scheme.

Kochi: With Onam, the biggest festival in Kerala just a few days away, the prices of flowers have shot up to alarming levels and threaten to mar the celebrations. Floral carpet arrangements, pookkalams, which are part of the festival, might be smaller this season due to the huge hike in the price of flowers.
