Kottayam: The Rubber Board today announced that Natural Rubber (NR) exports from India registered a quantum leap during the last financial year with 20,030 tonnes leaving the country. By contrast during 2015-16, export was only 865 tonnes. Exports recorded 30,594 tonnes in 2012-13, but and thereafter, owing to the relatively low price of NR in the international market exports showed a declining trend.

Rubber Board launches Rubber Soil Information System for rubber growers
New Delhi: Union Commerce & Industry Minister, Smt Nirmala Sitharaman has launched Rubber Soil Information System (RubSIS), an online system for recommending application of appropriate mix of fertilizers to the specific plantations of rubber growers depending upon their soil nature in New Delhi.

Trivandrum: The Thiruvananthapuram based Central Tuber Crops Research Institute (CTCRI) has developed new technology called Electronic Crop (E-Crop), an electronic crop simulator, which communicates to the farmers directly from the field on behalf of the crop. It informs the farmer about the status of the crop, its input requirements to realize a targeted yield as well as about the forecasts regarding the crop.
