Thiruvananthapuram: 7,201 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Kerala today while 7,120 patients have recovered from the disease. 6,316 persons were infected through contact and the source of infection was unknown for 728. There were 61 medical and paramedical staff among those infected. Meanwhile, 28 Covid related deaths were confirmed today taking the death toll in the State to 1,668.

7,002 new Covid cases & 7,854 recoveries in Kerala today
Thiruvananthapuram: Covid-19 was confirmed in 7,002 persons in Kerala today even as 7,854 patients have recovered from the disease. 6,192 were cases of local transmission and the source of infection was not traceable for 646. There were 66 medical personnel among those infected today. Meanwhile, 27 recent deaths were reported as being caused by Covid taking the death toll in the State to 1,640.

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan today announced that the government has surpassed the target of creating 50,000 jobs in 100 days. Briefing the media, Chief Minister said, “At the end of the two months period, 61,290 jobs have been created in the State. Today we are setting a new goal of creating another 50,000 jobs before the end of December. Thus the revised target is employment for one lakh people in four months (during the September to December).”

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan has informed that 6,820 new Covid-19 cases were confirmed in Kerala today. 5,935 persons were infected through contact and the source of infection for 730 was unknown. There were 60 healthcare workers among those infected. At the same time, 26 deaths were reported taking the Covid related death toll in the state to 1,613. Meanwhile, 7,699 patients have recovered from the disease today.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Elephant Rehabilitation Centre at Kottoor in Thiruvananthapuram is set to become the largest care and cure centre for elephants in the world. The first phase of the internationally acclaimed Elephant Rehabilitation Centre will be commissioned in February 2021. The project is being implemented at a cost of Rs 108 crores with funding from KIIFB. The centre has facilities to accommodate 50 elephants including the existing 16 elephants.
