There were 33 healthcare workers among those infected. At the same time, 6,055 patient recoveries were reported. 21 deaths were confirmed as being caused by Covid taking the death toll in the state to 2,244.

Thiruvananthapuram: 5,643 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Kerala today even as 5,861 patients have recovered from the disease. 4,951 were cases of local transmission and the source of infection for 571 was not traceable. There were 34 health personnel among those infected. Meanwhile, 27 deaths were confirmed today as being caused by Covid and the related death toll in the state is now 2,223.
