The average test positivity rate for the last three days is 11.5%. The number of new cases during June 11-13 has dropped by 4.2% over the previous three days. The number of active cases has decreased by 14.43% and the TPR also declined by 10.04% over this period.”

Briefing the media, the Chief Minister said, “Our state is moving forward with relaxations in view of the reduced spread of the disease after a 40-day lockdown. Local self-governing bodies are classified on the basis of test positivity rate and restrictions are implemented accordingly. There must be full cooperation on all sides with these regulations. We should continue to exercise caution as during the lockdown phase. Strict precautions should be taken as we are now facing a highly contagious delta variant of the virus. The third wave can be prevented if we all are vigilant as a community. There is also a possibility that the third wave may be due to the emergence of the Covid virus, which is more genetically modified than the delta virus. The government is making the necessary preparations to deal with any situation and there will be no complacency in this regard.”
Meanwhile, 11,361 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Kerala today from 1,11,124 sample tests in the last 24 hours. 90 recent deaths were confirmed as due to Covid and the related death toll in the State is now 11,833. At the same time, 12,147 patients have recovered from the disease and at present, there are 1,07,682 persons under treatment in the State.
The CM informed that about 40% of the people in Kerala have been vaccinated with the first dose. “We will speed up the vaccination as per the availability of the vaccine. At the same time, we must be careful to avoid congestion at vaccine centres. They should not become centres of disease transmission. The authorities and the people must act responsibly in this regard.”
