Kochi: Sistema Shyam TeleServices Ltd (SSTL) that provides telecom services under the brand MTS organized FREE health camps at Vizhinjam, Thoppumpady, Chavakkad and Perumbavoor in Kerala.
The health camps were organized targeting the local fishermen community and migrant population residing in the area and benefited more than 800 families. These health camps are part of a larger national rural engagement program called MTS Shakti.
According to Radhakrishnan K V, Chief Operating Officer, Kerala Circle – MTS India, “MTS India believes in making a difference to the communities where it does business. As part of the same endeavour – MTS organised free health camps in four areas across Kerala. The free health camps are just a start and we would continue our efforts to focus on issues concerning the local communities across Kerala.
“All this is part of a national rural engagement program called MTS Shakti. The programme currently covers 200 rural and semi urban areas across India and the plan is to bring 100 more of such areas under the initiative every month for the next 12 months”, he added.
In addition to providing guidance on general health and dental hygiene, the camps also provided a chance to the local communities to get updated on the latest telecom offerings from MTS. Many people also utilized this opportunity to repair their old handsets, buy new ones and a lot more.
