Trivandrum: Aries Epica, a Technopark based animation studio and a division of UAE based Aires group of companies, today announced a joint venture with Bangalore based computer animation firm, Xentrix Studios to provide a state of the art animation studio to produce high quality animation content for overseas clients. The joint venture will operate in Technopark under the name Xentrix Studios@Epica.
Briefing the media, Sohan Roy, Founder & CEO of Aires Epica said, “We are pleased to have found a strong partner in Xentrix Studios. The joint venture combines the resources and expertise of Xentrix Studios and Epica Studios’ facilities. Our aim is to make India an animation hub. This joint venture aims to tap the potential of locally available talent and also create opportunities for Malayalee animators to come back home. This JV will also help upgrade the skills of local animators as we plan to start an academy soon.”
Nandish Domlur, Co-Founder & CEO of Xentrix Studio said, “With this new JV, Xentrix is continuing its successful partnership strategy and a step towards growing outside Bangalore. Xentrix brings in the expertise and our goal is to build on what Epica has already built in the last 18 months. We would add another 250 people over the next 10 months to the existing 100+ resources, as the first phase of expansion. Our objective is to deliver high quality animation work for our esteemed global clients.”
Epica Studios is spread over 16,000 sq. ft. area in Technopark Phase III and produces animation projects for Europe and Asia based broadcasters. The studio was built under the Motion Pictures of America certified standards. Xentrix Studios provides high end CGI animation work for TV series, DVD features, feature films and gaming.
“With the Mohanlal owned Vismaya Max Studio now in our kitty, we would be able to deliver an end-to-end package for our customers”, added Sohan.
Satish Chandran, Director of Epica and Virendra Patil, Chief Creative Officer at Xentrix Studios, were also present for the press conference.
