Kochi: Hospitality chain SFC Group has announced that it will invest Rs. 100 crores to expand its Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) vertical ‘SFC Plus’ across South India. The company proposes to add 25 new SFC Plus restaurants in the next four years to capitalize on the growing popularity of QSR and consolidate its presence in South India.
In this year the company will open five outlets in Kerala at Tirur, Calicut, Alleppy, Kottayam and Trivandrum. SFC Plus has recently embarked on a new brand campaign and unveiled its mascot called Captain Cluck.
K Muraleedharan, Chairman & Managing Director, SFC Group said, “The QSR segment represents a terrific opportunity for us with an emergent young population and growing disposable incomes, resulting in higher propensity among consumers to socialize and eat outside. SFC plus is an established and popular brand given its quality and service. The brand’s popularity stems from its customization to suit local tastes and flavours.”
“The Rs. 100 crores investment into new restaurants will help us provide better accessibility to local communities across South India. We are also adding five outlets in Kerala by the end of 2016. The new mascot Captain Cluck will be the face of SFC Plus going forward and we believe that the mascot will resonate with people and position the brand uniquely in the minds of consumers,’’ he added.
