Kochi: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Kerala Chapter today organised a road show on Make in India Week at Kochi. The Make in India Week is envisaged as a global platform to celebrate the achievements of the ‘Make in India’ campaign, to strategize India’s integration with the global economy and to provide a platform for global partnerships.
Sushil K Satpute, Director, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), Government of India addressed the gathering and welcomed all industries in Kerala to be a part of Kerala Pavilion at the Make in India Week scheduled on February 13-18, 2016 at Mumbai.
Make in India Week is a flagship event that is aimed at propelling the Indian economy by forging enormous global engagement with Indian industry in the form of partnerships and investment. Set against the vibrant backdrop of the world’s fastest growing economy, make in India week will showcase the potential of design, innovation and sustainability across India’s manufacturing sectors through a series of highly visible outreach initiatives in Mumbai. The week-long event will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India.
The Make in India centre will feature an exhibition of the most innovative products and manufacturing processes that have been developed in India. The space will be an avant-garde statement in design, merging the aesthetics of traditional craft with a futuristic vision. The Sectors Pavilion would showcase Indian and global companies across key focus sectors and the states pavilion would display India’s major manufacturing states, their achievements and investment potential.
K G Ajithkumar. General Manager, Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) invited companies from Kerala to participate in the exhibition and utilize the special Kerala pavilion.
A K Nair, Past Chairman, CII Kerala congratulated the Government of India for the initiative and called upon the Kerala industry, especially the CII members to partake in the Week and Exhibition in Mumbai.
