Hilton Worldwide enters Kerala with Garden Inn Trivandrum


Trivandrum: Global hospitality major, Hilton Worldwide is all set to open their first property in Kerala on December 27, 2013 in Thiruvananthapuram. The Hilton Garden Inn Trivandrum will be the first international hotel brand in the capital city.

Hilton Worldwide will manage property owned by Muthoot Hotels & Infrastructure Ventures under the Muthoot Pappachan Group which has been built with an investment of Rs.85 crores.

Interacting with the media, Guy Hutchinson, VP, Operations – India, Hilton Worldwide said, “The opening of Hilton Garden Inn Trivandrum marks the entry of Hilton into Kerala and is also the first Hilton Garden Inn in South India. This is the third Hilton Garden Inn after Delhi and Gurgaon. It is a significant step in Hilton Worldwide’s expansion into prime city locations across India.”

“India is a key strategic market for Hilton. Currently, we operate hotels and resorts in Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Chennai, Vadodara, Pune, Shillim and Goa. Over the next eight to ten months, we plan to extend our portfolio to include Bangalore, Agra and Jaipur”, he added.

Thomas John Muthoot, CMD of Muthoot Pappachan Group said, “It’s a matter of great pride for the Muthoot Pappachan Group to partner with Hilton Worldwide for its foray into Trivandrum and the introduction of the Hilton brand in Kerala. We look forward to providing world class international standards of hospitality in Kerala.” He also added that the tie-up with Hilton for the management of the property is for 20 years and the hotel is expected to break even in four years.
