Trivandrum: CII is organising a conference on MSME funding – Opportunities and Challenges in partnership with Government of Kerala on August 29, 2013 at Thiruvananthapuram.
MSMEs promote economic development which also leads to equitable development. They account for generating the highest rate of employment. MSME also account for a major share of industrial production and exports. The sector is traditionally dependent upon debt financing. Despite several directives by Government of India to boost MSME lending, Banks / Financial Institutions are selective and have remained extremely cautious in lending to them. The existing structure of capital markets in India makes it difficult for MSMEs to raise capital due to higher cost.
It is in this context, CII is organizing a Conference which would strive to understand the evolving trends in MSME Funding focusing on sessions on credit appraisal, good governance, receivable financing, and alternative funding opportunities like acquisition financing, mezzanine funding, equity financing and many more issues.
Speakers have been invited from Ministry of MSME, Government of India, Government of Kerala, State Planning Board, NSIC, Canara Bank, SBI, SIDBI, ECGC, NIESBUD, Ernst & Young, ICRA, BSE, Startup Village, IDFC, etc.
The key speakers invited for the session include Shri K H Muniyappa, Minister for MSME, Government of India and Shri Oommen Chandy, Chief Minister, Kerala among others.
