Marriott enters Kerala with Courtyard at Kochi Airport


Kochi: Marriott International Inc. has opened its first property in Kerala. The premier four-star hotel from the Marriott India Cluster, Courtyard by Marriott, near the Kochi International Airport at Nedumbassery, was recently inaugurated by the Minister for Excise and Ports, Shri K Babu. The project has been promoted and developed by the UAE based Lulu Group International.

Rajeev Menon, Area VP – India, Maldives and Australia Marriott International Inc. said, “We are delighted to have launched our Courtyard brand in Kochi with a promise of delivering the best service quality that the city has ever seen. He added that there would be a second Marriott Hotel, coming up along with the launch of the much awaited Lulu Shopping Mall at Edappally in Kochi.

The hotel is strategically located 300 mts from the Kochi International Airport. With a room inventory of 107 rooms; Courtyard by Marriott, Kochi Airport has the highest room inventory in the near vicinity of the Kochi international Airport; and is all set to cater to the needs of the transient- business and leisure travellers. This is the eighth hotel by Marriott in India.

Minister of Tourism, Shri A P Anil Kumar; Minister of Public Works, Shri V K Ibrahim Kunju, and Prakash Jayadevan, Hotel Manager, Courtyard by Marriott, Kochi Airport were among those present.

The brand Courtyard by Marriott, launched in 1983, has grown into one of Marriott’s largest brand and the world’s 12th largest lodging chain with more 916 Hotels worldwide.
