GKSF garners excellent response to early bird registration offer

Trivandrum: With less than two months to go before the start of the sixth edition of Grand Kerala Shopping Festival, registrations for the event are on course to surpass last year’s tally, especially as retail outlets rush to take advantage of the Early Bird discount. More than 1,000 merchant establishments have already registered for the festival, with many availing of the 5% discount on registration on offer until October 31.

U V Jose, Director, GKSF said, “We expect at least 3,500 outlets to sign up before the close of the Early Bird discount”. He is also confident that the festival will meet its target of 10,000 registrations- up from around 5,550 last time.

The premium Gold category which saw a total of 265 retailers last season has attracted 125 establishments in just over a month. In Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kasargod districts, the number of registrants in this category has already exceeded last season’s figures.

Automobiles, banks, electronics, furnishing, FMCG, hotels, jewellers, spas, supermarkets, textiles etc. are the major segments usually represented in GKSF. “However, we are keen to ensure that even small businesses, everyone from beauty salons to specialist retailers, are able to reap the rewards of GKSF,” Jose added.

The 48-day fiesta, spread across all 14 districts of the state and expected to attract around 3.3 crore shoppers, is accompanied by Kerala’s biggest promotional drive through multi-media channels and outdoor campaigns. It is a great opportunity for participants to raise their profile, visibility and add value to their brand. GKSF also offers a chance for brand promotion through a number of sponsorship options, including co-sponsors, associate sponsors, preferred brand partners, holiday partners and event, merchandise, coupons and prize sponsors.

The prize pot for Season Six includes 101 Kg of gold, sponsored gifts, vouchers, GKSF merchandise and coupons. A record 50 lakh coupons were distributed during the last season; this time the target is to double that number.
