Trivandrum: The Muthoot Pappachan Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Muthoot Pappachan Group, has chalked out major CSR initiatives by initiating the largest directory of blood donors in India and also partnering with the famous Soorya Film & Stage Society, for revival of trailing Indian art forms through its commitment to Theatre and Performing Arts.
The Muthoot Pappachan Life Blood Directory will be launched, initially in Kerala, on October 1st, the International Voluntary Blood Donation day. The directory would be steadily extended pan India making use of all Muthoot Pappachan Group presence and infrastructure. The Group is having its staff strength of over 20,000 employees across 2,800 offices, their families and over a million customer base across the country. Along with its staff and customers who are voluntarily signing up in the Life Blood Directory, the effort is to gather up all interested for the cause to join the Directory and take the message forward.
Along with supporting the year long Soorya Festival for the third year, the Muthoot Pappachan Group and Soorya Stage & Film Society together would also create a platform for disabled artists, artists of tomorrow (youth), and now rare folk art forms which have been slowly vanishing.
The CSR activities of the company are centred on Health, Environment, Education & Livelihood (HEEL). Through its association with Soorya Festival, Muthoot Pappachan Group seeks to extend support to the livelihood of these artistes and encourage their talent and skills.
Announcing the initiatives, Thomas John Muthoot, Chairman & Managing Director, Muthoot Pappachan Group said, “Muthoot Pappachan Foundation was formed with the objective of supporting the deprived and the marginalised sections of the society. As a part of the livelihood theme, it is our privilege to support Soorya Festival for promoting arts & culture and various other programs which are in line with our objective to support the livelihood of individuals.”
