Kochi: The seventh edition of Kerala Travel Mart (KTM), the largest buyer-seller meet in tourism sector, will be held in Kochi from September 27 to 30, 2012. Around 500 foreign delegates from 48 countries and 1,700 domestic delegates are expected to participate in Kerala Travel Mart 2012. The event will be inaugurated by Chief Minister, Shri Oommen Chandy.
The four day Kerala Travel Mart is being organized by the tourism industry in partnership with the Government. At KTM 2012, there will be 108 Tables, 296 modules and 12 Houseboat parking bays. The meet will have sessions on responsible tourism, technological advancements and other similar topics. In the business meets, over 2,000 buyers will interact with about 400 sellers. The appointments between sellers and buyers have been fixed online.
KTM is the only tourism event in the sub-continent that brings together the business fraternity and entrepreneurs behind the tourism products and services of Kerala. It is the largest gathering designed, planned and scheduled to facilitate meetings involving Buyers, Sellers, Media, Govt. agencies and others. Its strength is reflected in the increasing participation of Sellers and Buyers.
Kerala Travel Mart Society, the organisers has over 600 members with profiles varying from Airline, Ayurveda Centre, Farmstay, Homestay, Hotel, Speciality Hospital, Resort, Travel Agent to Tour Operators specialized in Adventure, Backwater, Heritage, Monsoon, Plantation, Wedding and Honeymoon packages. KTM is held once in two years during the weekend of September.
Post the event, tours are also being arranged for interested buyers for three days to different destinations like Bekal, Wayanad, Munnar, Thekkady, Kumarakom, Alappuzha, Kollam and Kovalam.
