Leighton Welspun bags Tata Realty’s Rs 286 crore Kochi project


Kochi: Leighton Welspun Contractors, part of the Australia based Leighton Holdings Group, has been awarded a project worth Rs.286 crore by Tata Realty and Infrastructure Ltd. (TRIL) under the alliance model to develop five new residential towers in Kochi. The work on the Tritvam residential project, which will come up at Marine Drive, will commence soon and is expected to be complete by 2015.

Award winning Australian architectural firm, Woods Bagot has been selected to design this premium waterfront development at Kochi. The residential complex envisages 3 & 4 BHK apartments and a provision for convenience shopping.

Leighton Welspun bagged the project following the successful completion of their Ramanujan IT Park project in Chennai which was developed by TRIL. This was the first major alliance contract in the construction sector for Leighton Welspun.

Tata Realty and Infrastructure Ltd. is a 100 per cent subsidiary of Tata Sons, to serve as a real estate and infrastructure development arm. Real estate projects have been identified as the initial focus area for the company, including projects of other Tata companies.
