Trivandrum: Minister for Industries & IT, Shri P K Kunhalikutty today launched Patshala, the in-house training programme of Akshaya for their entrepreneurs at a function held at the Institute of Management in Government (IMG) in Thiruvananthapuram.
Akshaya, a first-of-its kind ICT programme in India, through its ubiquitous network has served millions and stood at the fore front to deliver citizen services. Akshaya has played a pivotal role in recognizing Kerala as the most e-readiness State.
In his comments, the Minister said that recognizing the huge potential and the need of tomorrow, Government has taken a decision to train the Akshaya Entrepreneurs. The main focus of the programme is to enable Akshaya Centres to render proactive citizen services at the door steps of the common people through customer orientation and entrepreneurship skills. Considering training as core component to nurture this 2,000+ Akshaya Entrepreneurs, Akshaya has formulated this training programme named ‘Patshala’.
This training program will be an ongoing activity. Patshala would render both soft skills as well as technical trainings to ACEs and staff. Over and above, the effectiveness of the training programme will be evaluated and the area where in which the ACEs require training also will be analyzed. The programme was launched officially with the wholehearted belief to make Patshala as a holistic approach to meet the training needs of ACEs.
Differing from the usual filing of online application or data entry Akshaya has also succeeded in catering services qualitatively that require varied skill set namely UID Enrolment, live webcasting of election, etc. Now it has stepped into new arena viz. banking kiosk and marketing of insurance products. Akshaya has partnered with New India Assurance, a 100 % Govt owned general insurance company, to sell its policies.
