Thiruvananthapuram: BSNL Kerala Telecom Circle has announced several new initiatives and offers for its customers on the occasion of Independence Day and the forthcoming Onam festivities in the State. The highlights include a Rs.1 new SIM/first recharge offer with bundled benefits and an extended-validity annual plan.
Briefing the media, R Saji Kumar, Chief General Manager Telecom (CGMT), BSNL Kerala Circle said, “BSNL is committed to building a resilient and future-ready telecommunications network powered by indigenous technologies and customer-centric innovations. As part of its Independence Day celebrations and the approaching Onam festival, BSNL is pleased to announce a series of new customer-centric initiatives and special offerings aimed at enhancing customer experience, expanding digital services and making advanced connectivity and entertainment more accessible.”
He also added that even though BSNL Kerala Circle is the most profitable circle among other circles across the country, BSNL is currently in the fourth position in the State, in terms of customer base. The company expects more people to migrate or port-in to BSNL in response to the new initiatives and attractive offers.

Rs. 1 Freedom Offer: New customers or Mobile Number Portability (MNP) users can get a new SIM/first recharge for Rs. 1. The offer includes 1 GB/day data, unlimited voice calls, and 100 SMS/day for 24 days. The offer is active from August 12 to September 12, 2026.
Fibre Freedom Plan: The BSNL Fibre Freedom Plan (also known as the Fibre Super Plus OTT plan) costs Rs.1,111 per month. It delivers 200 Mbps high-speed internet, 5,000 GB of monthly data, unlimited 24×7 voice calls across India, and access to 25 to 27 premium OTT entertainment platforms through a single connection.
Rs. 2,399 Annual Plan Extension: Recharging with the Rs. 2,399 prepaid plan during this promotional window gives an extra 47 days of validity, totalling 412 days of service with 2 GB/day data and unlimited calls.
New Selfcare Mobile App: The new BSNL Selfcare app is an all-in-one platform to manage BSNL mobile, landline, and Bharat Fibre (FTTH) services. It features a revamped user interface, interactive usage dashboards, one-touch prepaid recharges, easy postpaid bill payments, multiple account management, and integrated complaint tracking.
