Kochi to host Global Ayurveda & Health Tourism Summit

Thiruvananthapuram: The Sixth edition of the Global Ayurveda Summit and the 11th Kerala Health Tourism Edition will be held on August 29 & 30, 2024. The two-day event will see the representation of delegates from 10 countries.

Briefing the media, the organisers said, the event is a testimony to the growing reputation of Kerala as an ideal destination for medical value tourism and wellness treatment. They added that the event would help strengthen and consolidate Kerala’s medical value tourism sector. The Confederation of Indian Industry is the organiser of the event with support from Union and State Governments and the Ministry of Ayush.

Dr S Sajikumar, Chairman, CII Global Ayurveda Summit said, “The Global Ayurveda Summit is held when the Ayurveda system of treatment and medicine is gaining attention at the international level. The summit is expected to provide a boost to this process.”

The key themes of the summit included branding, startups, and availing advances in artificial intelligence for enhancing the efficacy of Ayurveda. The summit will provide great opportunities for the exchange of ideas and networking at the national and global levels.

Dr A Marthanda Pillai Chairman, CII Kerala Health Tourism said, “We are pleased to announce participation from several countries this year, including Switzerland, France, Russia, Oman, Kenya, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, the Czech Republic, Taiwan, and Bangladesh. These countries will be represented at the Kerala Health Tourism and the Global Ayurveda Summit, including medical travel facilitators and other stakeholders.

Dr P V Louis, Co-Convenor, CII Kerala Healthcare Panel said the conference will feature a range of sessions focusing on key themes such as building a thriving ecosystem for medical value travel and elevating healthcare standards.

Approximately 80 exhibitors and 3,000 trade visitors are expected to participate in the event. Kerala’s reputation as a premier healthcare destination is bolstered by its high-quality medical facilities, professional expertise, and cost-effective healthcare services, combined with its tourism and hospitality offerings. The summit will explore these strengths, highlighting the opportunities that make Kerala a preferred choice for global health tourism.
