Thiruvananthapuram Airport gets EV charging stations

Trivandrum: ?TIAL (Thiruvananthapuram International Airport) today announced that it has operationalized four electric vehicle charging stations, two each at Terminal 1 and 2 for internal usage and for the public.

Commissioning the charging station further reinforces TIAL’s commitment to achieving Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) Level 4+ in the short term and net-zero status in the long term. TIAL had procured 4 EV’s recently for sustainable operations and to reduce carbon footprint.

The direct-current fast electric vehicle charging stations are located at Terminal 01 Domestic Car Parking and Terminal 02 International Bay 02 Car Parking. The EV Charging station has one 30KW CCS charger and one 20KW GBT charger at Terminal 01 and Terminal 02 installed, where two electric vehicles can be charged simultaneously. CCS charger will be able to charge vehicles within 50-60 minutes and GBT charger within 60-90 minutes.

Potential users must download Adani Gas EV App which is available on both Android and iOS. One can use the time, energy, and money mode to charge their EVs. In the time mode, a user may select the time that one wishes to charge the vehicle, in the energy mode can opt for the number of units that the vehicle needs to be charged and charge for a specified amount in the last mode. There is also a provision for fleet cards that large operators can avail to charge their EVs.
