Trivandrum: The next month would see an increase in the number of flights from Kerala to the Maldives and Saudi Arabia. Maldivian Airlines has announced the resumption of flights from Thiruvananthapuram to Hanimaadhoo island in Maldives and Indigo has scheduled daily services to Dammam and Jeddah from Kochi.
The number of services from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport to Male will increase to five days a week from May 29. The service to Hanimaadhoo is twice a week. The flight will reach Thiruvananthapuram at 2.40 am on Sundays and Thursdays, and return at 3.40 am. The service to Male is currently available on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The new service will start on Wednesdays and Sundays. The flight will arrive at 4.15 pm and return at 5.15 pm.
In addition to those coming to Kerala for medical treatment from the Maldives, the service will also benefit employees working in the Maldives from Kerala and Tamil Nadu as well as tourists, said a statement from Adani Thiruvananthapuram International Airport Ltd.
CIAL enhances connectivity to Saudi Arabia
Indigo has scheduled daily services to Dammam and Jeddah from June 15, 2022. This is in addition to the existing 15 weekly services to Riyadh and Jeddah operated by Saudia Airlines and Air India Express. According to a press note, Kochi International Airport Ltd (CIAL) facilitates 29 weekly services from Kochi to Saudi.
