Trivandrum: The number of international passengers passing through Thiruvananthapuram Airport has increased significantly after the reduction in travel restrictions and the increase in the number of flights.
According to a press release from Adani Thiruvananthapuram International Airport Ltd., the airport handled 1.2 lakh passengers in 2022 March, up from 67,919 passengers in April last year. In the first days of April, the number of daily international passengers reached over 4,000.
There has been a gradual increase in the number of monthly passengers since last May as per the statistics shared by the company. May-21,356, June-21,899, July-29,592, August-59,429, September-85,919, October-1,02,931, November-1,11,295, December-1,32,165, January-1,09,441 and February-93,180.
Air India Express, Air Arabia, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, Etihad, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Salam Air, Fly Dubai, Indigo, Gulf Air, Kuwait Airways, Maldivian Airways, Scoot and Sri Lankan Airlines are currently operating services from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. Air India Express tops the table with 24 services a week. Thai Air Asia has been licensed to operate to Bangkok.
