‘Meet the Investor’ programme brings in projects worth Rs 760 crores

Trivandrum: Industries Minister, Shri P Rajeev has launched the ‘Meet the Investor’ programme. In the first round of talks with three entrepreneurs, an investment of Rs 760 crores was agreed upon. The investment was offered by Synthite, Dhatri and Nita Gelatin industry groups.

Synthite Group has announced that the Rs 215 crores agro-processing cluster project in Pangode in Ernakulam district will be completed by June next year. Nitta Gelatin Group announced Rs 200 crores investment plan. The Dhatri Ayurveda Group has stated that it will invest Rs 45 crores in the first phase for the immunization scheme and Rs 300 crores in the second phase for the development of ayurvedic medicines.

The agro-processing cluster of Synthite Group will be set up on 32 acres of land adjoining the Ernakulam warehouse. The government will consider the application for declaring the project area as a private industrial park. Road access to the park will be improved. An amount of Rs 45 crores will be spent for the first phase development project of the Dhatri Ayurveda Group. KSIDC will co-operate in the project. It was also decided to allot land in Kinfra’s Pallippuram Industrial Park. Nitta Gelatin will invest Rs 200 crores. This is to increase the productivity of existing plants at Kakkanad and Koratti. KINFRA will create the conditions for the full use of the space previously allotted. KSIDC will appoint nodal officers for government level coordination for each project.

The Industries Minister will exchange views with industry groups investing over Rs 100 crore in the ‘Meet the Investor’ programme. The venue will be prepared for this every month. The programme also aims to strengthen the existing business-friendly environment and attract new investment.

Dhatri CEO, S Sajikumar; Synthite Group MD, Viju Jacob and Nita Gelatin India MD, Sajeev Menon attended separate meetings with the Minister of Industries, Principal Secretary, Dr K Elangovan; Director, S Harikishore; KSIDC MD, M G Rajamanikyam and KINFRA MD, Santosh Koshy Thomas.
