Trivandrum: TechieBazaar.com, an online peer-to-peer marketplace exclusively for professionals working in the IT / ITeS industry in Kerala, was inaugurated by the Minister for Industries & IT, Shri P K Kunhalikutty recently at a function held here. The portal, TechieBazaar.com is an initiative by two young entrepreneurs – Johnson Joseph and Anand Dhananjayan.
TechieBazaar aims to connect techies who are looking for goods and services with peers who are offering them. From room sharing, gadget sales, etc to car pooling, it empowers individuals to hire out or sell their excess goods and services and get the most out of their resources. All the services of the website are free of cost.
Wishing all the success to the endeavour, the Minister suggested that such exclusive portals should be launched across IT parks and SEZs spread all across the nation. The Minister added that the government would extend all its support to young entrepreneurships ventures like TechieBazaar, now and in the future.
“Through this portal, we aim to promote the spirit of the sharing economy within the techie community by facilitating a sustainable and resource-efficient way of living, and thereby building relationships in the process. We are initially focussing on the IT community in the Technopark campus in Thiruvananthapuram and then gradually expand the services to cover other IT Parks across the State like Infopark, Kochi and Cyberpark, Kozhikode, as and when it comes up,” said Johnson.
“We make the selling and buying of things effortless and give you the most graceful experience than any similar online portals. The usual complications of ‘user registrations’ and other formalities are avoided in Techiebazaar.com. What makes the portal unique is the ease of posting ads on it. A person doesn’t even visit our website to sell their stuff. All one has to do is to send an SMS or Whatsapp message to 9656934555 for reaching out to the community and post your ad, everything absolutely free of cost!” added Anand.
