Seafood Festival @ Kovalam Dec 25-28

Trivandrum: Aadisaktthi Resorts, a wellness resort located at Vellar near Kovalam, will be hosting Samudrolsavam, a seafood festival from December 25 to 28, curated by Chef Nalan Shine. The festival is designed to celebrate Kerala’s coastal heritage with authentic flavours and offer a vibrant culinary experience.

Briefing the media at a press conference today, Chef Nalan said, “Beginning from Kerala’s iconic shoreline, the festival aims to showcase traditional seafood cuisines while promoting food as a powerful driver of tourism. Unlike many countries known for a single cuisine, India stands apart with diverse food traditions across States. Samudrolsavam marks the beginning of a larger movement to highlight regional coastal cuisines, preserve traditional cooking methods, and position Indian seafood on a global tourism map.”

The seafood festival will feature a curated range of traditional and innovative seafood delicacies crafted by Chef Nalan, including his signature dishes.

Abhilash Raveendran, Managing Partner of Aadisaktthi Resorts said, “This is the first time that Aadisaktthi Resorts is hosting a seafood festival since the resort opened eight years back. We plan to showcase our coastal delicacies and hope it will add value to our customers and guests. The highlight of the festival will be the lunch buffet with live counters. Our resort is known for its hilltop location, sea views, and focus on traditional Ayurvedic treatments. This seafood fest will be a new feather in our cap.”

Chef Nalan Shine is a prominent Indian chef and founder of Nalan Academy, known for promoting traditional, sustainable Kerala cuisine with a modern, innovative twist, focusing on heritage flavours, farm-fresh ingredients, and cultural storytelling through his restaurants and social media, aiming to bring back authentic food practices and promote well-being.
