Kottayam: The Rubber Board has announced the mRube Best Performer Award 2025 for the highest volume traded through mRube, the online trading platform for natural rubber. The awards will be distributed on 19 November 2025 at Agartala.
The award carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a citation to the markets that achieved the maximum number of trades across various categories, to promote wider participation and trade through the platform. The mRube electronic trading platform, launched by the Rubber Board in 2022, has received an overwhelming response from stakeholders, facilitating the trade of more than 43,500 tonnes of natural rubber through 2,700 contracts worth about Rs 680 crore since its inception. A total of 2,700 members, including Rubber Producer’s Societies, manufacturers from tyre and non-tyre sectors, rubber dealers, processors and estates have been onboarded on the e-market. mRube is the first-of-its-kind online marketplace for any plantation crop in India, providing a transparent spot trading system where buyers and sellers can bid competitively.
The Best Performer Award 2025 in the tyre sector was bagged by M/s Balkrishna Tyres. Other best performers are M/s Classic Industries Exports, Ernakulam (Non-Tyre Sector); Ceyenar Associates, Kottayam (Dealers in other than NE Region); M/s Manimalayar Rubbers, Agartala (Dealer in NE Region); M/s Thunchathu Ezhuthachan Rubbers, Nilambur (Dealer in RPS Companies Category); M/s Kavanar Latex, Pala (ISNR Processor Category); M/s Poothrikka RPS, Ernakulam (RPS in Other than NE Region) and M/s North Salimara Rubber Producer’s Society, Assam (RPS in NE Region).
The Rubber Board developed the mRube portal to keep pace with technological advancement in commodity marketing and to ensure a hassle-free, transparent and efficient trading environment for rubber. This technology-driven initiative has strengthened the existing value chain by bringing greater transparency and improved market visibility. Over time, mRube has evolved into a trusted e-marketplace that continues to enhance participation and foster growth in the natural rubber sector.
