IndianOil market leader in Kerala & Lakshadweep

Trivandrum: IndianOil is the market leader in the State of Kerala & Union Territory of Lakshadweep with the highest market share of 45.54% in Petrol (R), 48.54% in Diesel (R) and 50.48% in domestic LPG business. This was disclosed by Sanjib Kumar Behera, Chief General Manager & State Head – Kerala, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) while addressing a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram today.

“IndianOil has a marketing infrastructure of 1,140 retail outlets and 116 SKO dealerships enabling us to scrupulously cater to the fuel needs of the people of Kerala. In the last three years, IndianOil has commissioned 181 Retail Outlets in Kerala including 91 rural retail outlets. All our Retail outlets are fully automated with real-time data transfers monitoring the transactions. IndianOil has solarized 481 of its retail outlets in the state accounting for a total installed capacity of 2,886 KW. Keeping with the velocity of changing trend with e-mobility, IndianOil has set up 184 EV Charging stations including Battery Swapping and aims to commission another 19 EV Charging stations including Battery Swapping this year”, said Sanjib.

City Gas Distribution companies, namely M/s IOAGPL (IndianOil Adani Gas Pvt Ltd), M/s AG&P (Atlantic Gulf & Pacific) & M/s Sholagasco Pvt Ltd in coordination with Oil Marketing Companies are setting up CNG facilities across Kerala. IndianOil markets CNG partnering with the above CGD operators at 76 Retail outlets in Kerala and propose to add another three CNG filling facilities this year.

He also informed that Kerala has the highest sales of Chhotu 5 kg LPG cylinders on all India basis with the highest market share of 70.48% in the State. Chhottu was launched especially for catering to the migrant population in urban and semi-urban areas. IndianOil has also pioneered the usage of LPG as fuel, in place of kerosene, in fishing boats and has issued LPG Conversion kits with 19 Kg LOT valves to the fishermen.

The CGM also gave details about the various CSR activities undertaken by IndianOil in Kerala, in both urban & rural areas, with more focus on thematic areas such as healthcare, education, providing basic facilities such as clean drinking water, empowerment of women & physically challenged, environment sustainability, rural development etc.
