Trivandrum: Thiruvananthapuram International Airport Ltd. (TIAL) has announced an increase in the weekly frequency of the domestic services from 60 to 79, with effect from March 01. Additional services are expected in the summer schedule, to be disclosed later.
According to a release from TIAL, Indigo Airlines has decided to increase the services to Bangalore from 7 to 20 weekly. This will help the passengers from Thiruvananthapuram to Bangalore, a route for which there is always a rush for tickets. There will be three services on weekdays, two will be in the morning and one in the evening. There will be daily services to Kannur and Kochi also. Earlier it was four per week. This will enhance the connectivity within the state of Kerala. Daily services to Chennai, Mumbai and Hyderabad will be continued. Few services that were started earlier had to be suspended due to Covid restrictions.
In the summer schedule, the services to the cities including Delhi, Pune, Calicut etc are expected to be introduced. Few more international services, especially to the middle east, are also expected, said the release.
