CII to conduct session on private investment in Kerala infrastructure


Trivandrum: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) is organising a session on the need for private investments with the participation by experts who have experience in planning and formulating large Private projects in the Public Private Partnership. The session is scheduled at 1630 hrs on 10 July 2017 at Thiruvananthapuram.

Gajendra Haldea, IAS (Retd.) will be the Chief Guest for the session. He graduated in Economics and Law from the University of Rajasthan and joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1973. The PPP projects based on his work include over 300 highway projects, numerous power generation and transmission projects, Hyderabad Metro Rail project, Vizhinjam Port in Kerala and a $6 billion contract for production and maintenance of locomotives, among others. All national highway projects in India are currently being built on the basis of various model documents authored by him for BOT, annuity, and EPC projects. All these investments have led to the creation of enormous wealth, employment, and income across states and sectors.

Other key speakers invited for the panel discussion are; James Varghese, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Forest & Wildlife, Government of Kerala; K M Chandrasekhar, IAS (Retd.), Former Vice Chairman, Kerala State Planning Board; and Santosh Kumar Mohapatra, Director and CEO, Adani Vizhinjam Port Pvt Limited.
