American burger chain Burger King to opens its flagship outlet in Kochi


Kochi: BURGER KING®, the American burger chain is all set to launch its first store in Kerala at Kochi on June 25, 2016. Burger King India opened its first restaurant in India in 2014 and the outlet at Lulu Mall in Kochi will be its 59th restaurant across India.

Commenting on the launch, Rajeev Varman, CEO, Burger King India said, “We are extremely excited to strengthen our presence in southern India and we look forward to serving our much loved burgers especially our signature – WHOPPER® to our guests at Kochi. India is a unique market. The taste palates though is experimental, mostly people like to savour the taste they are brought up with. That is why we have created an entirely new menu for India. None of our offerings on the menu are from our global portfolio as we wanted to start afresh. Burger King India’s menu is quite innovative and we wish to offer our customers a whole new experience of burgers. We have six chicken burgers, one with mutton, and six options in vegetarian. The vegetarian and non-vegetarian mix of products is 50:50. We wish to create a distinct identity and taste that our consumers with resonate with.”

Apart from the flagship Whopper, which is available for Indian consumers in Veg, Chicken and Mutton variants, the menu has on offer Chicken Tandoor Grill and Chicken Keema Crunch, both being favourites across markets. The brand also has on offer Chicken Wings – both in fried and grilled form especially for the guests in Kochi. In its endeavour to offer unique and great tasting products to customers, the brand recently introduced their global menu favourite Chicken Fries in India. Apart from a diverse menu, Burger King also has a very easy upgrade to combo pricing that helps customers enhance their dining experience.

According to a press release, founded in 1954, the Burger King brand is the second largest fast food hamburger chain in the world. The Burger King system operates more than15,000 locations in approximately 100 countries.
