C4 campus logs in at KINFRA Film & Video Park, Trivandrum

Trivandrum: Chief Minister, Shri Oommen Chandy today inaugurated the Centre for Creative and Cultural Capital (C4) campus of the Bangalore based Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology at the KINFRA Film and Video Park at Kazhakoottam, on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram.

In his address, the CM said that the creative economy is a new paradigm of development. Fundamental to this new paradigm is the recognition that creativity, knowledge, technology and information are powerful engines driving economic growth and promoting development in the globalized world.

Minister for Industries & IT, Shri P K Kunhalikutty, said that in the contemporary global environment, sustainable economic gains come from attracting and retaining a talented and creative workforce rather than staying focused on existing businesses and industries. “This needs the coordinated efforts of more than one sector- academia to power creative minds, governments to open the economy to the creative sectors and business to invest in these new arenas. This will develop a talented and creative workforce capable of driving innovation and new business formation.”

Shri M A Vaheed, MLA; P H Kurian IAS, Principal Secretary, Industries & IT; Geeta Narayanan, Founder Director, Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology; Dr. G C Gopala Pillai, Managing Director, KINFRA; Dr. P K Radhakrishnan, Vice Chancellor, Kerala University; and K Sudhakaran, Managing Director, Kinfra Film & Video Park; were among those who were present on the occasion.

C4 would offer programmes to nurture creativity and classes would begin in July 2016. The areas are digital film-making and digital media arts (which include animation, visual effects and gaming design); user experience and interaction engineering and graphic arts with information and experience design.

KINFRA Film and Video Park, the first Infotainment Industrial Park in the Country in a beautifully landscaped area of 75 acres of land at Kazhakuttam, is a fully owned subsidiary company of Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA).
