Malindo Airways to start Trivandrum to Kuala Lumpur from Aug 24


Kochi: Malindo Airways has announced the commencement of its operations from Trivandrum to Kuala Lumpur from August 24, 2015. Thiruvananthapuram is Malindo Airways’ sixth destination in India and second in Kerala, after Kochi.

Since December 2013, Malindo Airways has spread its wings in the Indian region with operations from New Delhi, Trichy, Mumbai, Kochi & Vizag.

According to Dony Jose, Manager – Kerala, Malindo Airways, “Due to the overwhelming response received from the travel community, we are all set to commence four times weekly operations from Trivandrum. Arrival into Trivandrum is slotted at 21:30 hours and departure at 22:20 hours. The days of operations will be Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.”

Malindo Air being a hybrid carrier offers fares which are inclusive of 30 kgs check-in baggage, 7 kgs cabin baggage, onboard refreshments and personalized in-flight entertainment onboard. The airlines operate the Boeing 737-900ER, most of which are fitted with Wi-Fi connectivity which is available to passengers at a nominal charge.

Malindo Air is based in Malaysia and headquartered in Petaling Jaya. It is a joint venture between National Aerospace and Defence Industries of Malaysia and Lion Air of Indonesia. The name Malindo is derived from the names of respective countries, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Malindo Air started operations from March 2013 with domestic destinations in Malaysia. The airways network includes Singapore, Bangkok, Jakarta, Bali, besides Kula Lumpur.
