Kerala Tourism makes a mark at ITB Berlin


Trivandrum: Kerala Tourism has once again stamped its authority as a leading global holiday destination with an impressive presence at the Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin (ITB Berlin) – 2015, the world’s largest tourism trade fair that began on March 04.

The 128 square meter stand of Kerala Tourism is the biggest among the State tourism boards from India.

“We are sure that Kerala Tourism will be raised to a higher platform at this fair,” said Kerala Tourism Minister, Shri A P Anil Kumar. “We had won the ‘Golden City Gate’ award, at ITB Berlin last year for the print campaign on backwaters, which was a great boost to the tourism industry.”

The stand, with the Great Backwaters of Kerala theme was inaugurated by the Deputy Chief of Mission, India Embassy at Berlin, Shubhdarshini Tripathi and Joint Secretary – Tourism, Government of India, Suman Billa.

“We have received positive and encouraging responses on the very first day of the trade”, said G Kamala Vardhana Rao, Secretary, Kerala Tourism, who led the State delegation. He also added that Kerala will reap maximum benefits from this fair in terms of business, with as many as 19 trade partners.

The trade partners are: Abad Hotels & Resorts, Coconut Bay Beach Resort, Crowne Plaza, Eastend Hotels & Resorts, Kumarakom Lake Resort, Nikki’s Nest, Poovar Island Resort, Ramada Alleppey, Vythiri Resort, T & U Leisure Hotel, Dravidian Trails, Intersight Tours & Travels, Spiceland Holidays, The Travel Planners, Carnoustie Ayurveda & Wellness Resort, Krishnatheeram Ayurveda Beach Resort, Sitaram Beach Retreat, The Nattika Beach Ayurveda Resort, and Uday Samudra Leisure Beach Hotel & Spa.

The ITB international trade fair concludes on March 8.
