Trivandrum to host CII Kerala MSME Business Meet 2014


Trivandrum: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing a Kerala MSME Business Meet with the theme ‘Prospering in Challenging Times’ on June 27, 2014 at Thiruvananthapuram.

According to a communiqué from the Thiruvananthapuram Zonal Office, Jorn Rohde, the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bangalore, will be the Guest of Honour at the CII Kerala MSME Business Meet to be held at Hotel SP Grand Days.

Best practices to improve Vendors Competitiveness, SME’s reach out to Buyers, SME exchange ‘EMERGE’, Finance options for MSME’s and Emerging areas of Entrepreneurship in Kerala, are some of the topics for the various sessions.

Some of the key speakers expected at the event are Nandakumar K, Chairman, CII Thiruvananthapuram Zone and also, President & CEO, SunTec Business Solutions; P Ganesh, CEO, Glass & Glazing Systems; P S Rawat, Executive Director, Canara Bank; G Vijayaraghavan, Member, Kerala State Planning Board; Ajay George Varghese, Managing Director, Bipha Drug Laboratories; A K Mishra, Director, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.; Sachin Kotangale, Director – Marketplace, Flipkart; V Badri, Head – Southern Region National Stock Exchange of India; R Madhusudhan, General Manager (MSME), Canara Bank; and Rajesh Nair, Associate Director – Markets, Ernst & Young.

The meet aims to enable Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) to assess themselves, manage, market and grow to the next level, scale up from small to medium and medium to big. The event will also serve as a platform to collaborate, network and explore opportunities to enhance growth, according to the CII.

Indian MSMEs and their numerous strengths related to low cost of production, operational flexibility, ability to adapt to new technologies and so on are well known. However, the recent economic downturn had shown that MSMEs needed to develop newer markets. MSMEs are now exposed to greater opportunities and diversification across sectors and need to explore new markets that offer potential opportunities for their growth.
