Trivandrum: Syndicate Bank, a Government of India undertaking, is all set to usher in a slew of measures with a view to provide good and quality services to its customers in Kerala.
Interacting with the media in Thiruvananthapuram, M Anjaneya Prasad, Executive Director of Syndicate Bank, announced that ATM facility would be introduced in all its 200 branches in Kerala before the end of this financial year. 113 branches already has ATMs. The introduction of ATMs at all its 16,000 odd branches across the country will be covered this fiscal. He also added that the Bank would introduce e-Banking services at few select branches in the State. These e-Banking Branches would have 24×7 automated cash and cheque acceptance facility.
Giving details about their operations in Kerala, Prasad said that the Kannur region was the best across the country in mopping up NRI deposits. The bank has about Rs.1,000 crore NRI business in Kerala. The Bank accounts for 2.3% of the market share of the total banking business in the State, doing a business of Rs.11,000 crores in the last financial year.
He also added that the bank has a good track record of loan disbursal in the State with about Rs.2,000 crores in the agriculture sector, Rs.1,000 crores for housing, Rs.600 crores as vehicle loans and Rs.400 crores as education loans.
According to the ED, right now Syndicate Bank’s housing loan is the cheapest housing loan available in the market as they are given at the base rate decided by RBI (10.25%) irrespective of the loan amount and the tenure.
