TiE Kerala wins TiE Global Chairman’s Award

Kochi: TiE Kerala has won the TiE Global Chairman’s Award for the best overall performance among 67 chapters spread across the world. TiE Kerala was also awarded certificates in the best Chapter and best growth categories. This is the first time a chapter was being recognized in three categories simultaneously.

The award was presented at the recently held TiE Global Charter Member Retreat at Athens. John K Paul, President, TiE Kerala Chapter received the award from the TiE Founder Director & Founder Chairman Gururaj Desh Deshpande in the presence of Ashok Rao, Chairman, TiE Global. Past Presidents of Tie Kerala – Jose Dominic, C Balagopal, Shivdas B Menon and Executive Director, WgCdr Chandrasekhar were among those present on the occasion.

A team of 16 charter members and prominent entrepreneurs from Kerala participated in the retreat attended by about 400 delegates’ members from different regional chapters.

“One of the most important things we do at our annual retreat is to celebrate and acknowledge the achievements of our chapters. And there is no acknowledgement that is more rewarding than by your own peer group. They are reinventing TiE and leading the march into a very dynamic and turbulent future”, said P K Agarwal, CEO of TiE Global.

Receiving the award John K Paul, President of TiE Kerala Chapter said that the global award is a recognition of the young chapter’s multifarious activates in the last decade, including successfully organizing TiEcon Kerala 2012 and its constant efforts to bring necessary change of perception towards entrepreneurship in the society. The global recognition will pave way for greater achievements by the chapter in future.

The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) was founded in 1992 in Silicon Valley by a group of successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and senior professionals with roots in the Indus region. There are currently 20,000 members, including over 2,500 charter members in 67 chapters across 17 countries in 5 continents. TiE’s mission is to foster entrepreneurship globally through mentoring, networking, and education.

TiE Kerala, a chapter of TiE was formed in March 12, 2003 with ten Charter Members. Within a short span of nine years, the chapter grew to its present strength of 46 Charter members and 490 Associate Members.
