Kochi: The Directorate of Industries & Commerce under the Government of Kerala will be setting up a facilitation centre during the TiECon to be held on October 25 & 26, 2012 at Kochi. This is the result of series of discussions TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) Kerala Chapter and the Government of Kerala held in recent months on how to make State entrepreneur friendly.
Budding and established entrepreneurs can field questions regarding setting up of a venture and also have a process walkthrough of the regulatory approvals required in establishing businesses in Kerala. This unique opportunity will also be another milestone in the State, showcasing the close interactions the industry has with the government and policy makers.
TiE Kerala and the government of Kerala have been having several discussions on improving the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the State in the last two months. In a series of discussions from August, which was followed up with a joint Round Table during the Emerging Kerala event, various initiatives, industry and government can do together were considered. The DIC has already taken up some of the recommendations and made swift changes to re-engineer the processes to disseminate information in a more efficient manner and to make the DIC processes more entrepreneur friendly.
While TiEcon is a standalone event, discussions are on for the creation of a joint committee consisting of entrepreneurs and government to look and suggest initiatives to make Kerala a destination of choice for potential entrepreneurs. TiEcon is being organised by the Kerala Chapter of TiE. TiE’s mission is to foster entrepreneurship globally through mentoring, networking, and education.
