Trivandrum: TechieBazaar.com, an online peer-to-peer marketplace exclusively for professionals working in the IT / ITeS industry in Kerala, was inaugurated by the Minister for Industries & IT, Shri P K Kunhalikutty recently at a function held here. The portal, TechieBazaar.com is an initiative by two young entrepreneurs – Johnson Joseph and Anand Dhananjayan.

TechieBazaar aims to connect techies who are looking for goods and services with peers who are offering them. From room sharing, gadget sales, etc to car pooling, it empowers individuals to hire out or sell their excess goods and services and get the most out of their resources. All the services of the website are free of cost.

Wishing all the success to the endeavour, the Minister suggested that such exclusive portals should be launched across IT parks and SEZs spread all across the nation. The Minister added that the government would extend all its support to young entrepreneurships ventures like TechieBazaar, now and in the future.

“Through this portal, we aim to promote the spirit of the sharing economy within the techie community by facilitating a sustainable and resource-efficient way of living, and thereby building relationships in the process. We are initially focussing on the IT community in the Technopark campus in Thiruvananthapuram and then gradually expand the services to cover other IT Parks across the State like Infopark, Kochi and Cyberpark, Kozhikode, as and when it comes up,” said Johnson.

“We make the selling and buying of things effortless and give you the most graceful experience than any similar online portals. The usual complications of ‘user registrations’ and other formalities are avoided in Techiebazaar.com. What makes the portal unique is the ease of posting ads on it. A person doesn’t even visit our website to sell their stuff. All one has to do is to send an SMS or Whatsapp message to 9656934555 for reaching out to the community and post your ad, everything absolutely free of cost!” added Anand.

Anu, did Olx cry when Quikr was launched or the other way round? It does not matter whether the idea is copied or stolen, sometimes remakes do better than originals. Anyway, only time will tell if Techiebazaar can deliver. And moreover, competition is always good for the customer.

This is a good venture… Sometimes while searching for things, it is all cluttred in general websites. An exclusive portal for techies is a good initiative. Wishing it all success and hoping such platforms will pop up more in several IT hubs across India.

I have visited techiebazaar.com and it is really different and really a great initiative. I don’t feel any copy of the other. I really appreciate this work.

  4. Flipkart launched initially in India. Later Snapdeal came and then Amazon! When a competition comes, there’s no point in blabbing the new comer as “copycat”. Tpbazaar is basically a forum. These guys have come up with a much better user interface!

  5. Really useful for the techies.. Need to improve a bit.. Anyway nice effort.. keep going..
