Trivandrum:, the first Malayalam supported e-commerce venture that aims to empower the neighbourhood corner shops, the cottage industry, home-made & house-hold product manufacturers and distributors through an e-commerce platform – all under one umbrella, is ready for rollout.

Interacting with Kerala IT News, Shaji Thomas, CEO of said, “Greenkurry will bring more footprints (people) and sales to all participating regular brick & mortar retail shops and also small businesses to compete with bigger retails chains by getting on the e-commerce platform. Our idea is to give them an online ecosystem. Entrepreneurs who want to start e-commerce can begin their online business through Greenkurry in no time.”

Babumohanan K V, one of the promoters, said, “We want to empower small businesses to connect with manufactures and farmers to get the best price, cut short the delivery time and enjoy better inventory management. We want to build an ecommerce platform for the common people to join the online business revolution with just a phone call. We encourage all housewives and shop owners with minimal Internet knowledge to join this Malayalam supported ecom initiative. One can also sell homemade products easily by starting a virtual store on Greenkurry.”

“Greenkurry also plans to address certain issues faced by people while dealing with the popular e-com / etailer sites. We want to position neighbourhood shops as delivery pickup points for the goods that you order online through Greenkurry. Customers can get the products delivered to a convenient shop near your place. For many users this is a dream come true in many aspects like privacy, security and convenience wise – to collect the products from your friendly neighbour shop, rather than wait endlessly for the delivery / courier guy to turn up”, added Shaji.

Dr. Shabeer Ali, another promoter said, “We are talking to traders and their associations to take them into confidence. We want them to understand that e-commerce is good for them.” is a venture of Brainzmart Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., a Thiruvananthapuram based company promoted by Shaji, Babumohanan and Shabeer.

Babu, an IT industry veteran, heads companies like GuildSoft and Phykon Solutions in Technopark, Trivandrum. Shabeer manages two hospitals in Malappuram and works on healthcare informatics as the CEO of Shaji, an NRI worked with Nokia for 15 years in US & Germany, and leads multiple companies based out of Germany and India.
