Kochi: Five IT companies from Kerala were part of the Indian delegation to the first Israel Innovation Conference (MIXiii), an international event focusing on biomedical sciences and high-technology.
Calpine Group, Kreara Technologies, SFO Technologies, Software Associates and Zesty Beanz , firms based in Thirvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode, were the companies which were represented at the conference in Tel Aviv from May 20-22. The trip to Israel was made possible with the support of the Kerala Government and the Indian Embassy in Israel.
The companies from Kerala were among the 30 odd public and private sector companies from India, which was the largest country participant at the international conference.
Israel, which has been dubbed the ‘start-up nation’, hosted the event to bring together thousands of the world’s biomed and hi-tech companies and create networking opportunities for new business cooperation.
The visit to Israel to experience its renowned culture of innovation and entrepreneurship was a first for the participants from Kerala. They said the response to their products and services at MIXiii had been very positive.
Deepak Sunny from Calpine Group, Manoj Dethan from Kreara Technologies, Hashim Abdul Khader from SFO Technologies, Duleep Sahadevan from Software Associates and Lepeesh Parat from Zesty Beanz, who represented the Kerala IT firms also visited the Tel Aviv university, other business incubators and technology transfer centres in Israel.
Israel Innovation Conference was organised by Israel Advanced Technology Industries. IATI is Israel’s umbrella organization representing the various constituents of the nation’s advanced technologies, be it high-tech, biomed, multi-national corporations, start-ups, incubators, accelerators, technology transfer offices of academic institutions, venture capital funds, service providers and more.
